USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map

January 2012 the US Department of Agriculture released the new USDA Hardiness Zone Map.  This Plant Hardiness Zone change reflects a warmer country and confirms what many gardeners have been thinking and experiencing for years.  On the negative side we have dealt with new weeds and bugs that we did not have 20 or even 10 years ago.  On the positive side we have been planting figs, rosemary, sage or other plants with the hope that they will survive the winters - and they have!
